Feeling Myself Fall: Give Away!

Hello Everyone!

This weekend I was looking at our calendar over the next few months and I realized Halloween is only 10 weeks away! That is absolutely crazy to me. Time really is flying by and before we know it, it will be 2020.

I am so excited for the upcoming holiday season, but I know that with the holidays comes parties, festivals, and all sorts of fun things! I really want to look and feel my best going into the holidays, and Halloween is kind of the “kick off” to the season. I thought it would be fun to do a motivational/accountability challenge with any of my friends or followers who wanted to join! This isn’t about weight loss, but just feeling good and if we lose weight along the way… That’s win-win!

And at the end, I’m going to do a give away for people who interact and participate! Why wouldn’t you want to join me?!

Here are the challenges:

  • Fitness: Do 50 workings between Monday 8/19 and Sunday 10/27. It can be just a walk around the neighborhood, a class at the gym or a workout on YouTube. Whatever will challenge you to feel your best!

  • Food: You don’t have to go on a “diet” but just try to make the best choices you can day to day. Any time you eat a healthy meal, snack or even just drink your water, post about your successes!

  • Monthly Calendar: I will share a monthly calendar with a different challenge listed on each day. These will be all sorts of different things like, text a friend you haven’t talked to in a while, track your water or even just stretching before bed.

June Favorites

This month went by so fast! We had such a great beginning to our summer and I can’t believe how much Bryant is changing every day. I haven’t had a lot of time to shop and look for new products, but I have found a few good ones that I wanted to share! Some are products I personally love and some of things I use with Bryant. I hope some of these work for y’all! Let me know if you find anything you love too! : )

Tinted Moisturizer

My typical “holy grail” foundation is Estee Lauder’s Double Wear. I love that foundation and use it almost daily! But, during the summer, especially when I’m just running errands or even going to be outside in the heat, I like to use something a little more light weight (and less expensive).

I have tried a lot of tinted moisturizers, but I recently tried this new one from Avon and I love it! It’s buildable coverage, which I really like so I can customize my look based on the occasion. When I get sweaty in the Georgia heat, I don’t feel like it’s caked on my face either, which is a definitely plus this time of year.

Aviator Sunglasses

I love aviator sunglasses because I feel like they look best on my (big) head/face, but I lose sunglasses almost every time I get a new pair, so I wanted to find some that were cheap but also looked good. I found these on Amazon and I absolutely love them! I got them in brown and black, and they also come with a little case. Definitely great to keep in your bag or your car, and if you lose them, you’re not gonna beat yourself up over it!

Setting Powder

I usually don’t set my foundation with powder because I don’t like a super matte look, but in the summer when I’m sweating like a bodybuilder, a girls gotta do what a girl’s gotta do. I use this on top of full coverage foundation, tinted moisturizer and sometimes even on a bare face when I’m feeling extra greasy. This powder is super cheap and really good quality for a drugstore brand. I’ve used it for years!

Wool Dryer Balls

I was actually gifted these for Christmas and held off on using them for a while, mainly because I didn’t get it? But I’ve been using them for about 2 months now and I think they really do make a difference! I notice our clothes dry faster and they are a great replacement for dryer sheets! I spray them with essential oils sometimes, which I love since we use unscented detergent.

Baby Favorites

Included in this list are my favorite products for feeding Bryant both at home and on the go! Also included are our favorite teething ring and the sun hat we use when Bryant is swimming! The hat is our favorite because of the ear flaps and the fact that it ties around his neck, so I don’t have to chase it around the pool.

Back to Normal

It's Sunday night, and I am finally preparing myself to go back to work tomorrow. It's been an entire week off of work, and I'm about ready to pull my hair out if I don't get off of my couch.

Don't get me wrong, I love a good day off. No alarm, pajamas all day, Netflix binging and just no stress... But a whole week is about to make me insane.

The flu is totally mental to me, because at this point, I'm not really *sick* anymore in terms of symptoms, but I have zero energy and no one wants to be around me. It's been rough. One for the ages. I wouldn't wish this on anyone.

I don't have any pictures for this post, because I truly have not left the house except for Thursday when I *mistakenly* attempted to return back to work. At first I was fine, just coughing some.. But then after lunch, it was a quick crash and burn. I was absolutely drained and had a low grade fever again. So, my principal sent me home and said to stay out until Monday.

I'm ready to get back into a routine and part of that is eating healthy and going to the gym. I'm definitely going to take the gym slow until I fully recover my energy, but thanks to Kroger Clicklist, I've been able to prepare for the week ahead and I thought I'd share my meal plan with y'all!

This week is a little off due to the Valentine's Day holiday, and Disciple Now weekend with our church, but I'm going to try and make it work!
I don't usually meal prep, but I'm experimenting this week, so we'll see how it goes...

February 12th - February 18th 2018

Breakfast this week will be Biscuits & Gravy Bake from The Daily Dose of Pepper.
I've made this before and it is so good, plus heats up really well!
It's 7 Weight Watcher Smart Points and 273 calories per serving.

Lunch this week will be Chicken Chili Taco Soup from Skinnytaste.
I don't love chicken in soups, but this soup freezes really well, so it's good to have in the freezer for days I don't have leftovers from the night before!
This recipe is 0 WW Smart Points and 220 calories per cup.

Suppers this week will be:

Monday- Slow Cooker Meatloaf with Roasted Potatoes & Green Beans
Tuesday- Galentine's Day with Friends: Making this Lasagna (Not WW Friendly)
Wednesday- Orange Chicken with Cauli-Rice Stirfry
Thursday- Celebrating Valentine's Day late due to church Wednesday night.

Friday- DNOW @ Church
Saturday- DNOW @ Church
Sunday- Out to Eat

Mondays are a “Restart” Button


Since getting sick last weekend, I’ve been going a little overboard with junk food. What is it about being sick that makes you just want to eat anything and everything? It was fun while it lasted but last night I felt like a gross beast, so today I committed to getting back on the healthy train. 

I woke up and ate a big breakfast ready to take on the day. I had a goal of not eating any junk food or candy today and I was successful. I feel better already!

I went to the gym after work and I’m so exhausted now, but it was worth it. 


My Monday workout. I created this myself last fall and have really been enjoying it so far.


For dinner I made a new recipe: Emily Bites Bubble Up BBQ Chicken & Bean Bake. It was SO GOOD. To be honest, some of the “bubble up casseroles” are hit or miss for me, but this was b o m b.
